Abstract: The Liverpool epidemic strain (LES) of Pseudomonas aeruginosa is a particularly successful cystic fibrosis (CF) pathogen associated with transmissibility, increased patient morbidity, and, unusually, infection of the non-CF parents of a patient with CF.
